It’s tough to enjoy a vacation when the weather ruins a day. But it doesn’t have to spoil the fun! You’d rather be outdoors, but these are fun indoor activities to enjoy during bad weather at a cabin.
Play a Card or Board Game
Cabins are comfortable and cozy places where a family can gather when you have to deal with crummy weather. Grab your favorite card or board game to enjoy while the rain pours outside. Pack a few different games to help pass the time. This is especially helpful when packing for a family vacation.
There are some excellent travel versions of popular games on the market. They take up less space and are easier to toss into your suitcase.

Do Some Baking
Does your family have a sweet tooth? Head to a local grocery store to grab the ingredients to bake a favorite cookie recipe. Or, try a new recipe for extra bonding time. Gathering in the kitchen with family is always a good time and is a great thing to do during bad weather.
Not a fan of cookies? Bake a cake and then have a cake frosting contest! Try making some Rice Krispie Treats, brownies, muffins, or cookies bars. The kitchens in our cottages are equipped with cooking utensils to make life easier.
Have a Dance Party
If you’re experiencing bad weather at a cabin, simply turn up the music and dance the rainy-day blues away! Find a fun playlist on your favorite streaming service and enjoy getting some exercise and passing the time away. Move all the furniture to the side to create a dance floor big enough for everyone to enjoy.
Watch Movies
Another fun activity to enjoy during bad weather at a cabin is watching movies or television shows. Our cottages have television, DVD players, and Wi-Fi, so you’re ready to set the family up for an entire movie-marathon day! Try making your way through a whole television series that you’ve been dying to binge. If you have little kids, enjoy the complete Despicable Me movie series with dance breaks in between each movie.
Make sure to include snacks and beverages to stay full and hydrated throughout the marathon.
