Train Rides

There are train ride adventures for everyone to enjoy. Learn about the history of the Poconos mountains while riding on an old-fashioned rail car through the area’s eclectic towns and take in the breathtaking autumn views.

Grab a ride on the 70-minute Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway ride, taking you from Jim Thorpe to the Lehigh Gorge State Park. Or hop on the Stourbridge Line, which will take you 25 miles through iconic towns such as Hawley and Honesdale.

Biking

There are over 260 miles of biking trails waiting for you to explore this fall in the Poconos. There is a range of difficulties to choose from, all while surrounding yourself with picturesque colors and views. You can rent a bike or bring your own, and they offer shuttle services as well.

For a tougher excursion, enjoy Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area on the McDade Recreational Trail. Or, if you’re looking for a slower-paced trail, check out Lehigh Gorge on the Switchback Railroad Trail. If it’s something unique you’re looking for, then The Bike Train is the trail for you. You’ll enjoy a train ride up the Lehigh Gorge and then bike back down into Jim Thorpe, which is one of the best places to observe fall scenery in the Poconos.

Horseback Riding

There are many stables in the area waiting to take you on your very own autumn horseback journey, such as Mountain Creek Riding Stable. Make your way through streams, prance along the woods, and stroll through the fields, all while experiencing incredible autumn air and scenery. Riders of all experience levels are welcome to enjoy this adventure.
